The Jacksonville Transportation Authority brings the future
into focus with the Regional Transportation System (RTS). By
2030, the First Coast region will have doubled in population
from 1990, with more than two million people calling this area
home. To handle this growth, our transportation system must
be efficient, and it must be diverse.
RTS will revolutionize transportation throughout the First
Coast area. In simple terms, RTS is a system that includes a
variety of innovative, exciting opportunities to improve our
methods of transportation. These may include commuter rail,
river transit, high-tech bus rapid transit, transit-oriented
development centers, service improvements, future engineering
and a state-of-the-art regional transportation center that will
serve as the hub of it all.
RTS is JTA's commitment to ensuring economic prosperity and
